[1992] She ran for Mayor of Naples but lost out to Antonio Bassolino. She is the daughter of Italian jazz pianist Romano Mussolini and actress Anna Maria Mussolini. Her grandfather was the WWII dictator of Italy, Benito Mussolini, who of course died before she was born. Her mother is the sister of actress Sophia Loren. She was also the niece of Edda Mussolini, Vittorio Mussolini and Bruno Mussolini and the niece by marriage of Galeazzo Ciano. In 1992 she was elected to the House of Commons.
