I don't know you, you don't know me, but I bought "An Amateur's Guide..." in the day and love your last 2 novels and go back to them - which rarely do for other writers. I don't know about "gift a birthday balloon (?!!)" but the phrase could fit in with one of your characters, and you'd know what to do with it. I love your work and don't understand why I seem to have so little company. I hope more people are buying your books than I imagine, and I really hope your oeuvre isn't complete yet... (I don't even know if this silly thing will actually get to you...but it amuses me to think these internet balloons might. Why not? If they do, then...cheers! Hope you are doing well. hmm...not done yet: I hope the weirdness of the Covid social isolation provides a fertile setting for ... oops, sorry, that's tacky...but oh well ok fine. Take care.
