His Hawi Boys during his hey day include Willie Revillame, Dennis Padilla, Chinkee Tan and members of the `90s band The Big Thing. Hawi, in Filipino, means to break the crowd. Composed and performed "Never Will There Be Another One Like You" as a gift to brother Raymart`s wedding to Claudine Barretto. The couple, however, decided to make "You Are the One" by Randy`s Serenity band as their theme song. Children (with Marilou): Ryan Leonardo and Rafael Louis. Released the album Beinte Na, Hihirit Pa in year 2006, in celebration of his 20 years in the show business. The CD is recorded live at his bar, Ratsky, in Morato with his band, Serenity.
In the 80`s, eyewear companies in the Philippines experienced unprecedented business when Randy became popular -- children bought shades to mimic Randy`s signature style of wearing dark glasses.
Shot to fame in 1987 via the release of his very first single "Di Magbabago." That song became so big that it topped the charts all over and stayed on radio stations` play list for a solid year consequentially earning "Song of the Year" status.
