Pegg revealed this in a recent interview with Spaced co-star Bill Bailey. He was cast in the role of Benji in Mission: Impossible III (2006) after Ricky Gervais was unable to take the role. When asked by a journalist whether England hadn't become too small for him after the world-wide success of Shaun of the Dead (2004), he replied "It's not like I'm going to be starring in Mission Impossible 3".
